Description:
Finnish mezzo-soprano Virpi Raisanen, who studied voice at the conservatories of Utrecht and Amsterdam, made her international debut in 2009 with Luigi NONO's "Al gran sole carico d' amore" at the Salzburg Festival. He made his international debut in 2009 with Luigi Nono's "Al gran sole d' amore" at the Salzburg Festival. He has been active in opera houses and concerts with a repertoire of contemporary music, including the premieres of operas by Wolfgang Rihm and Uljas Pulkkis, and Toshio Hosokawa's monodrama "The Great Raven" performed by the Finnish National Opera. Her new album, Trasparente (Transparent), consists of works for "violin and song" composed or arranged for Raisanen to show the full appeal of her career as a violinist. Holst's "Four Songs for Voice and Violin," composed with the idea of a singer singing while playing the violin, served as the model. The production of the album was the work of her close musical colleagues, who were involved in different capacities: as composers, lyricists, arrangers, and performers.Nando Russo, solo timpani player of the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra (Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra). Halli Ostermann, cellist of the Oulu Symphony Orchestra, who also works as a composer. Bram van Sambeeck (1980-), a Dutch-born bassoonist who has recorded the bassoon concertos of Mozart and Weber (BIS SA-2467). Van Hooft's arrangement of John Jacob Niles' Christmas song "Why Jesus" features Dutch harpist Nick Suhorten. Ilmari Maemper, composer of "Trasparente (Transparent)," is a composer and soundscape artist born in Oulu. She is also an architectural designer. Beverly Julie Lunt, born in Liverpool, is the second concertmaster of the Netherland Chamber Orchestra (Netherlands Chamber Orchestra). Jan van Huft is a Dutch pianist, composer, and producer. Uljas Pulkkis is one of the leading contemporary Finnish composers, noted for his colorful word music. The old Swedish hymn "Dalarna (The Old Hymn of the Summer Pasture)," a well-known song scored and arranged by Oskar Lindberg, was arranged by organist Risto Ainari, and the "Prelude" from J.S. Bach's "The Mean Clavier, Book 1, No. 12" was arranged by Räisänen himself. All of the songs on the album are multi-recorded. All of the songs on the album were recorded in the style of Leissanen playing the violin and singing, rather than in multiple recordings. King International
