Compared to his older brother Henryk Wieniawski, a violinist and composer, his younger brother Juszef Wieniawski, a pianist and composer, is not so well known today. However, he left behind works that are just as brilliant as those of his elder brother. This album, the first volume of his complete chamber music works, contains mainly works from his early and middle years, including the "Grand Double Polonaise, Op. 5," a tribute to Monieuxco written around 1852, and the "String Quartet, Op. 32," written in the 1870s, during Jozef's maturing years.
