The venue is the Pompeii Amphitheater, a historic structure built more than 2,000 years ago in 90 BC, buried in ashes by the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD, and later excavated and declared a World Heritage Site. It was the first rock concert ever held in this stone amphitheater since Roman times with an audience (45 years ago there was no audience due to a film shoot), and David Gilmour became the first performer to perform in front of an audience in this arena since gladiators fought there nearly 2000 years ago. Only a little more than 2,000 spectators were able to witness this show each day. The full story of this legendary show, which became a super-premium ticket for Pink Floyd fans all over the world, is now finally revealed.
