Bach performer. Here she brings back to life her brilliant piano translations of Bach's legacy! New preface by Yoshiko Ikuma and memoir \"16 years with Nikolaeva\" by Tomoo Nojima, the director at that time, are included in the commentary. Mastering was done in pursuit of the original sound. World's first SACD release!\n\n\n\nThe era of transition from vinyl to CD. This is the only Nikolaeva work recorded by Victor that has not been released on vinyl, and was recorded at the Imaichi Civic Hall (now the Imaichi Cultural Hall in Nikko City), near the hotel where Ms. Nikolaeva stayed, with Japanese staff in whom she had complete confidence. The Prelude and Fugue, which are often used as piano teaching materials, are presented as works of art. It is hard to imagine anyone else who could give such a high quality performance of such a piece that is easy to play with few notes. Tatiana Nikolaeva's mature and delicate touch has been polished with the latest K2HD mastering and released on SACD!\n\n\n\nSince winning the International Johann Sebastian Bach Competition held in Leipzig in 1950 to commemorate the bicentennial of his death, Nikolaeva has gained an international reputation as a leading Bach performer. Shostakovich, who was selected as a juror at the aforementioned competition, was greatly impressed by Nikolayeva's performance and composed \"24 Preludes and Fugues\" in 1951 (premiered in 1952), which is said to represent Soviet piano music in the 20th century, and dedicated the work to Nikolayeva.Nikolaeva made many recordings for the Melodia label and visited Japan frequently to record Bach's works with Victor. The recording of the works, initially as a joint production with Melodia and later as original recordings for Victor, began in 1977, and five albums (counting the average as one) were left behind from 1982 to 1991 with an intervening period. After the first recording in 1977, the sessions were recorded at the Imaichi Cultural Hall in Nikko, near where Nikolaeva herself preferred to stay at the time. Later, Victor recorded Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 1 live with Nikolaeva as the soloist at the \"Tchaikovsky Last Concert\" conducted by Fedoseyev in Osaka in 1993 (available as a SACD hybrid disc of this project in 2022 on NCS88013 NCS88013). Nikolaeva died the following year, so this disc was her last recording with Victor.\n\n\n\nThis reissue was planned to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Nikolaeva's birth in 2024. Only the 1977 recording of \"Invention and Sinfonia\" for Victor was made as an analog recording, and subsequent recordings were made digitally. All Bach recordings left by Nikolaeva for Victor will be released in five titles. The analog recordings were reissued from the original analog master tapes in Victor's collection, and the digital recordings were re-mastered from the original masters. We pursued the original sound and aimed for the highest sound quality in the current state of the art. The process of SACD conversion is the same as for each previous project.\n\n(1\/2)\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"VICTOR X TOWER RECORDS","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":51598181957921,"sku":"4988002948574","price":19.95,"currency_code":"EUR","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0568\/8482\/2076\/files\/4988002948574.jpg?v=1755223272","url":"https:\/\/cdsvinyljapan.com\/de-de\/products\/4988002948574","provider":"CDs Vinyl Japan Store","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
