The music world was no exception: concerts and tours were halted and musicians, especially freelancers, were deprived of their means of livelihood. On the other hand, during the lockdown caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, musicians became more artistically motivated, and composers who stayed at home created inspirational works one after another. Like Hiyori Togawa's \"Songs of Solitude\" (BIS SA-2533), \"Poems of Solitude for Soprano Saxophone\" is a project started by Swedish saxophonist Anders Paulsson as a \"positive response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Paulsson (1961-) is recognized as one of the world's finest soprano saxophonists, with the skill and taste to handle this difficult-to-control instrument. In 1993, when Nelson Mandela received the Nobel Peace Prize, he performed at the celebration. Paulsson is also an active composer whose works include \"Danjuran Sanctuary,\" a mixed choral work dedicated to the movement to preserve the coral reefs of the Philippine island of Danjugan. For the \"Poetry of Solitude\" project, he has commissioned works from Swedish and international composers.Tomas Simak (1958-) was born in Albania and lives in England, John Corigliano (1938-) and Stella Sun (1959-) are American, and Ad Vames (1953-) is a Dutch composer. Britta Büström's \"Later the Same Day\" and 14 other pieces were premiered in 2021, and Victoria Borissov-Ollas's (1969-) \"Daybreakon Skeppsholmen\" and 16 others in 2022. The album contains the premieres of these pieces. This album contains a selection of those premieres, recorded during a session at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm. Two pieces from \"Shared Soli-tude,\" written for two soprano saxophones by Paulsson's friend Anders Hilleborg, are performed with Hilleborg's son, Theo Hilleborg. Both parts of Büström's \"Later the Same Day\" were performed by Paulsson. Norwegian composer Shel Peder was inspired by Greta Thunberg's speech at the United Nations, and \"How Dare You?\" was written for duet with the didgeridoo, an Aboriginal instrument, and performed by Paulsson's South African friend, Bruce Copley. Paulsson's South African friend Bruce Copley participated in the session.                                                                                    King InternationalSCANDAL, which was certified by Guinness World Records as the \"Longest active rock band (female) with the same members\" at its 17th anniversary event held at Namba Hatch on August 21, 2023, has released its 11th original album in two years.\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Victor Entertainment","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":47773305340193,"sku":"4988002938124","price":32.95,"currency_code":"EUR","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0568\/8482\/2076\/files\/4988002938124.jpg?v=1704667562","url":"https:\/\/cdsvinyljapan.com\/de-de\/products\/4988002938124","provider":"CDs Vinyl Japan Store","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
