Andy Scott (1966-) has been a saxophonist for over 40 years. As a founding member of the Apollo Saxophone Quartet, he has played a wide variety of music without being restricted by style or genre, and his work has always been free and unbound by anything. The album includes the jazz-tinged "Three-Letter Word," dedicated to the memory of Swedish pianist Esbjörn Svensson; "Sonata," a tribute to France, where the saxophone was born; and the improvisational "And All Still" inspired by the English poet Lem Sisay's poem of the same name, The various works, including world premiere recordings such as the energetic "MHP," offer a glimpse into the musical world that Scott envisioned.
