Since then, he has won the hearts of numerous fans in Japan. This album was produced to commemorate his victory in the 2023 GFA (Guitar Foundation of America) International Guitar Competition, and features a selection of early 20th century romantic pieces, from Renaissance Dowland to Barrios' \"Dreaming in the Woods,\" which features the tremolo technique to great effect. The CD offers a rich musicality backed by his wide repertoire and skill, ranging from romantic works of the early 20th century to contemporary avant-garde and experimental pieces. It is also valuable to include the only guitar works by Roussel and Poulenc. Konstantin Briov, composer of Guitar Sonata No. 6 \"Harkiou,\" was born in Ukraine and is currently based in Tokyo.Having spent two years in Ukraine during the pandemic of the new coronavirus infection, and with war breaking out in his homeland soon after his return to Japan, Briouff said he had a special feeling for this piece, which is titled after his own fabric. In this piece, which is based on the key of G but uses all twelve tones to depict anxious feelings, Topchy's performance is full of empathy. Toppuccio also performed this piece during his visit to Japan in April 2024.
