The soloist here is the masterful Glennie. The performance is so wonderful that even Doati himself is amazed. Reflections on the Mississippi River\" for tuba is a concerto based on Doati's childhood memories of a family vacation. The piece is a fantastical representation of various events, including the wildlife of the watershed and the foggy landscape swirling around the river.
