Sladkovsky is one of the foremost performers of Mahler in Russia, and his recordings for MELODIYA in particular are highly acclaimed for their authenticity, careful expression, and abundant tension. Sladkovsky was born in Taganrog, studied at the St. Petersburg Conservatory and the Moscow Conservatory, and made his debut at the Conservatory's Opera and Ballet Theater, conducting \"Cosi fan tutte\".
