The present is the past, and those who lead will soon run last, and the times will change.\" The protest songs on this album are called Dylan's best work as a protest singer, with lyrics that cut to the heart of discrimination and social issues facing the United States at the time. This would be Dylan's last album as a socially conscious singer. Here you will find alternate versions and outtakes of that album. The first song, \"The Times They Are a-Changin',\" is an early version recorded the day before the official take, and is sung in the key of F (one note lower).
