In June 2025, the following year, the Te Deum dedicated to Notre Dame Cathedral was performed by Thierry Esche, one of the church's resident organists and a composer. This is a live recording (without applause) of its June 12 premiere. The chorus, supported by the orchestra, sang the lyrics of the Te Deum's Latin verses, which are based on prayers from the Psalms of the Old Testament, with some text by Hugo, the great writer of \"Notre Dame de Paris,\" and Nathalie Nabert, a contemporary poet. In between the chapters, Eskesch performs his acclaimed organ improvisations. In the acoustic space of the cathedral, which has been meticulously restored, the audience can fully appreciate the charm of the historic organ, which has been carefully restored and given a new lease of life.The work begins on the night of the fire that broke out at dusk on April 15, 2019, plunging the people into despair, and continues as if tracing the flow of the cathedral, often likened to a great boat in Europe, being saved from heaven and resurrected.
