Arrigo Boito is Verdi's \"Otello\" and \"Falstaff. He is best known as the author of several operatic masterpieces, including Verdi's \"Otello,\" \"Falstaff,\" and Ponchielli's \"Giaconda,\" as well as the composer of the opera \"Mephistopheles,\" which he wrote as a young man and based on Goethe's \"Faust.
