The music is full of free-spirited, energetic rhythms and lucid melodies, with Bakri's unique language, which is full of influences of Jolivet, Messiaen, and Taffanel, but also inherits the tradition of French music, with harmonies sometimes similar to those of Fauré and Ravel. The Spring Sonata is the world premiere recording. It is performed by Daniel Bryczak, who is the principal flutist of the Central Wisconsin Symphony Orchestra as well as a conductor.
