This is the world premiere recording of one of the five \"Stabat Mater\" works by Tuma, an 18th century Bohemian pre-classical composer known as an important bridge to classical music, discovered by Marnix de Kart at the monastery in Ottobohlen, Bavaria. The work appears to be from the late period of Tuma's activity, and the harmony, which is far advanced from the baroque frame, well reflects the pathos of the text, and the fact that it begins with a tenor and bass duo is also unusual for the genre. The album combines Tuma's Bohemian and Austrian works from a century earlier, and juxtaposes them with Biber's masterpiece \"Requiem\" and instrumental ensembles to provide a sense of both tradition and radicalism that Tuma inherited. The \"Pluto Ensemble,\" a choral group led by de Kert, provides beautifully blended harmonies, and the \"Hathor Consort\" led by Romina Lischka provides instrumental music, with a pleasant ensemble performance that is quiet and balanced, with each part rippling in the air.The second violin is played by Madoka Nakamaru, who is also active in the Bach Collegium Japan.
