A tribute album to composer Malcolm Lipkin, who was born in Liverpool, England, and died in 2017 after a 50-year career as a composer.Lipkin, who composed two symphonies, an oboe concerto, piano pieces, and chamber music, and also wrote commissioned works for the BBC, was once, His music, with its many easy-to-understand melodies, was once dismissed as old-fashioned, but today his originality is being reevaluated. In addition to new recordings by leading instrumentalists, the Nash Ensemble, formed in 1964 and the resident chamber ensemble of Wigmore Hall, has remastered the original LP recorded in 1984 for the Hyperion label for this album.
