This is a collection of piano works by Petrovich-Vlachanska, a Bulgarian-born, Luxembourg-based female composer. She says in an interview, "Luxembourg's classical music is still in its infancy, having only begun in the 20th century, but its strength lies in its cultural background, which incorporates diversity," and has produced more than 600 works, including operas, orchestral works, chamber music, vocal music, and piano pieces. He was also awarded a cultural prize in the Luxembourg Year of Culture 2007 for a commissioned work for electric guitar and instrumental ensemble. The album, with its slightly mysterious titles, is full of avant-garde, yet beautiful melodies, and her style is rich in esprit. The music is performed by Petrovic-Vlachanska's compatriot and kindred spirit, pianist Mangova. Mangova, who won second prize at the Elisabeth International Music Competition in 2007, is a talented pianist who has performed with the Staatskapelle Berlin and the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as in Rotterdam, with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, in Luxembourg and Tokyo.
