Description:

Antonio Veracini was an Italian composer of the Baroque period. His father Francesco was a highly respected musician who ran a local music school, and Antonio received his first musical education from his father. Later, he took over his father's management of the music school and taught violin to his nephew, Francesco Maria Veracini. Unlike Francesco, who traveled throughout Europe performing, Antonio rarely left Florence, but is said to have met Corelli on two visits to Rome. These chamber sonatas were composed as practice pieces for beginning violinists, and are an interesting collection of works colored by a variety of playing techniques. Naxos Japan
