The fourteenth release in the Divine Art label's Russian Piano Music series is the second collection of Prokofiev's works. It includes pieces from the ballet "Cinderella," which requires high performance technique, Piano Sonatas Nos. 1 and 6, as well as a number of exercises and other pieces. These difficult works by the 20th century Russian master, who was considered a modernist, and which make extensive use of dissonances and unique rhythms, are performed with great skill by Argentieri, a rising star born in Italy. She is a promising pianist who combines elegance and solid keyboard technique. She graduated from the Conservatory in Lecce with the highest marks before turning 20, and then completed a three-year master course at the Florence Conservatory. She currently performs in Europe and the United States and teaches at the Accademia di Giordano in Foggia. This is his solo debut recording. Naxos Japan
