The album includes "Ode to the Birthday of Aaron Copland," composed to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the birth of the great American composer Copland, and four works written in the 21st century. The nine-movement "Violin Concerto" is dramatic, while "Red Planet" is, as the title suggests, a Mars-inspired work. The other two pieces are in the form of dances.
