Farina, a violin virtuoso, was born in Mantova, Italy. In addition to Italy, he was concert master of the court orchestra in Dresden, where Schütz was music director. He contributed to the development of violin playing techniques, and in his "Drunken Fantasies" (8), he also uses a variety of special techniques to depict dogs, cats, and many other things. This album is alive with de Faye's crisp technique and Alarcon's vivid musical delivery. (C)RS
