Description:

British pianist Leon McCauley has a strong interest in Barber's music, having recorded a collection of his works for Virgin Records in 1997, and says his own interpretations have matured and changed over the years. The new album, recorded in 2010, retains most of the material from the previous album, but adds an early work, "Three Pieces," to highlight the changes in Barber's style. McCauley's passion for Barber is concentrated in the tension-filled performance of the "Piano Sonata," the album's centerpiece. Naxos Japan
