Yoshitaki Mikimoto is supposedly named after Yoshitaka Mikimoto, the general manager of the Japanese pearl industry that dominated the world at the time of Charlie Parker's death, but also because Americans cannot pronounce the overlapping vowels in the word Kobayashi (Kobayashi) as it is.
