In 2008, on the 10th anniversary of Robbins' death, the Paris Opera presented "Dedication to Jérôme Robbins", which caused a sensation. In (1), "EN SOL" (in G), dancers in costumes reminiscent of "The Lovers of Rochefort" dance a cheerful human drama in a seaside town while Ravel's piano concerto resounds radiantly.The long limbs and presence of Marie-Anès Giraud and the beautiful tall stature of Florian Mannenet are on full display in this performance. (2), "TRIADE," was commissioned by the Paris Opera. It was choreographed by Millepied, who has worked with Jerome Robbins since he was 16 and still dances Robbins' repertoire every season. It is somewhat reminiscent of West Side Story, with themes of conflict and reconciliation. (3) "IN THE NIGHT" is a masterpiece by Robbins, a lover of Chopin's music. As the title suggests, the dancers' dance in the jet-black, night-like atmosphere with the moist lighting creates a different world for the viewers. The dancers' dance, which floats in the dark like night under the moist lighting, takes the audience to another world. (4), also choreographed by Robbins, is based on the same Chopin music as (3), but it is a comical mime ballet. The pianist turns to the piano onstage and continues to play without hesitation, while the dancers play various human characters in a comical manner.During the performance of Ballade No. 2, the dancers were dressed as insects and flew around. It is a wonderful performance that is light, witty, and makes one marvel once again at Robbins' talent. King International
