You can hear \"The Rancher's Party,\" which Copeland had deleted. Then there is the wonderfully accomplished but little-known \"Dance Panel,\" the complex rhythmic interplay of \"Cuban Suite,\" and (only if performed in a groove) the frenzied frenzy of \"El Salón Mexico. These are truly difficult pieces, as even a slight lapse in rhythmic sense will cause the music to instantly fall into a state of lameness. Slatkin and the Detroit Symphony Orchestra galloped through these works like a cowboy riding a rough horse with ease.This is truly \"true American music\"!
