Lorin Maazel Commemorative Release■Maestro Lorin Maazel became Chief Conductor of the prestigious Munich Philharmonic in September 2012 at the age of 82, receiving rave reviews for his "unforgettable moment" and "highest standard of performance". In April 2013, he will lead the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra on a tour of Japan, and to coincide with this tour, we are releasing Bruckner's Symphony No. 3 as a commemorative disc of his visit to Japan. This is the first symphony recording by the duo, recorded in September 2012 at a concert at the beginning of the season. Symphony No. 3 is the earliest Bruckner symphony that Maazel recorded (with the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra on the Concert Hall label in 1967), and a performance of the complete symphony with the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra in 1999 was also released on CD. The Munich Philharmonic Orchestra is also a legendary orchestra. The Munich Philharmonic Orchestra is another Bruckner orchestra trained by the legendary master Celibidacke.This is a disc where you can enjoy the profound and brilliant Munich sound of the collision of two personalities.
