Beethoven (1770-1827)
Description:
Kremer's latest release is Beethoven and Chopin! A piano trio version of the Triple Concerto is now available! Kremer tackles Beethoven and Chopin. Of course, his discs of Beethoven's concertos and sonatas with Argerich have been long sellers, but this is his first attempt at the Triple Concerto. The violin, cello, and piano take the lead roles in this concerto, but only Kremer could have done it in the interesting version arranged by Carl Reinecke for piano trio only. Also, since Kremer rarely worked on Chopin's works, everyone will find it very intriguing. Reinecke arranged Beethoven's Triple Concerto for chamber music in 1866-7. While respecting the solo part of the original, Reinecke brilliantly divided the orchestral part among the three instruments (violin, cello, and piano) and adapted the playing style to suit each instrument. The result is a new version of the piano trio that is almost as good as the original. It is a luxury to hear this rare version in Kremer's masterful performance. The cello of his current wife, Dilvanauskaite, and the young Latvian Georgis Osokins, a finalist in the 2015 International Chopin Competition who performed Chopin's Piano Concerto No. 1 with the Tokyo New City Orchestra during his visit to Japan in the same year, work well together and invite the audience into a magical world. The other delightful thing is that they performed Chopin's Piano Concerto No. 1. Another delight was the opportunity to hear Kremer perform Chopin's Piano Trio. The trio was written by Chopin at the age of 19 and has not been performed or recorded very often, but this is the only performance of the violin part written by Chopin himself, except for the concerto. The dryness of the music is also suitable for Kremer, given the sweet and glamorous image of waltzes and nocturnes, but it may have been chosen because it offers a glimpse of the ancestral elements of Weinberg's works, which he is currently obsessed with. Chopin dedicated the cello to Duke Rajviu, a Lithuanian nobleman, and the Dilvanauskaite in this performance is truly Lithuanian, showing Kremer's unique attention to detail. It is full of conviction and makes you realize the true value of the piece. King International
