This time it includes motets in 8, 10, 12, and 14 voices from the second volume of Cantiones Sacrae, published in 1603. Vulpius was a singer and composer who served as cantor in Weimar from 1596. An acclaimed composer, he died at the age of about 45, and his works remained in the church library in Waldheim, Saxony, for a long time; since 2002, these works have been studied, which has led to an exhaustive recording by Capella Daleminzia, led by René Michael Leder. This time, many of the works are polyphonic, and the performances are substantial.
