This CD features various recordings by Slovenian violinist Dejan Bravnichal (1937-2018), including a spirited and masterful performance of Bach's Sonata No. 1 for Solo Violin at the age of 29. Mozart's Adagio has a wonderful, gentle emotion. Kreisler's performance was elegant and beautiful. Bravnichal's Kreisler was neither too modern nor too emotionally rich. The final piece, Ysaÿe's spirited Sonata No. 3 for Solo Violin, is the best way to understand Bravnichal as a violinist. Tobu Land System
