Swiss gem Rachel Corrie d'Alba! The French-speaking Swiss Rachel Corrie d'Alba made an impressive debut in Japan in 2012 with the NHK Symphony Orchestra at the Musashino Civic Cultural Center with a program featuring Ysaye's Sonatas for Solo Violin and Violin. Having steadily built up her career, Corey-Dalba chose Germany's Richard Strauss and Belgium's Guillaume Lecoux as the program for her recording for Indesens in France. The combination of the "Violin Sonata", which is the masterpiece of Lecoux, a premature genius who passed away at the young age of 24 due to illness, and the "Violin Sonata" by Strauss, a masterpiece of the German late Romantic period, is a perfect match for the two coupling pieces, the "Violin Sonata" and the "Violin Sonata" by Lecoux. Together with the two coupling songs, they form a lyrical and dense program that befits the album title, "Lyrical Journey.Corey D'Alba, with his Stradivarius, the famous instrument made in 1732, will guide us on a lyrical journey through the Romantic violin sonatas in a duo with fellow pianist Christian Chamorel.
