Description:

This is interesting. The "Folia," a dance piece of Spanish origin with a competition of great composers on the same theme, has long attracted the attention of composers from all over the world. Nine works are featured here, and all of them are enjoyable for the recorder's virtuosity. The most famous are those by Corelli and Vivaldi, but Bach also used the recorder in his "Peasant Cantata". Huillet's "Follies! is a 21st century work with an intriguing world music treatment. The album is a memorial to Bruchen, who died in August 2014. King International.
