The Elegant World of Boismortier, a Flower of the French BaroqueJoseph Bodin de Boismortier (1689-1755) was a French composer. Although his works do not come to mind in spite of his fame, he was an extremely prolific composer and was said to have been very popular during his lifetime. His works are characterized by beautiful and elegant melodies, which give us a very rich feeling. Claire Giardelli is the most energetic baroque cellist working today. She was assistant to Christophe Cowan at the Paris Conservatory and has been a professor at the Conservatoire de Lyon since 2001. Jean-Louis Charbonnier studied viol and bassoon at the Schola Cantorum Basel and then at the Conservatory of Zurich with Jordi Savard.
