The queen of viola, Tabea Zimmermann, will release her solo works on Harmoniumundi. This is the first solo release from Harmoniumundi, although Zimmermann has previously released music as a member of the Arcanto Quartet. The contents of this album are a little surprising, as it is a journey from Spain to South America, from Falla and Casals to Villa-Lobos and Piazzolla, but Zimmermann's powerful music is bursting with energy with Perianes on piano, a Spanish pianist who has been performing at a remarkable rate in recent years. Zimmermann's tone is full of knowledge, passion, and intensity. The nostalgic and powerful tone of the melody of "Falla" is a tone that only Tabea Zimmermann could produce. In the Villa-Lobos piece, which is also the title of the album, her viola tone sounds as if it exceeds the power of the human voice.
