His DG debut album was praised by Gramophone magazine as \"a remarkable talent.The piece chosen for this recording is Beethoven's \"Hammerklavier\" Sonata No. 29, considered the most difficult of his 32 piano sonatas and a work that requires a high level of technique and intelligent interpretation. It is also the work that brought him victory in the prestigious Van Cliburn International Piano Competition. He feels a personal kinship with Beethoven, and here he also enjoys the inner lyrical side of the composer's mind in Liszt's lovingly arranged series of songs, \"To a Lover Far Away. The lyrics moved me as well.\" I thought this expressive collection of songs would complement the 'Hammerklavier' nicely,\" he said.\n\n\n\nI spent a lot of time preparing for the recording, especially the third movement [of \"Hammerklavier\"]. It is also difficult to make this music my own, but the more I play it, the more I feel its depth. Some of Beethoven's experiences overlap with my own. He composed such a wonderful and very difficult work despite his loss of hearing.That is why I approached this work with great respect.\n\nI am very happy and honored to join Deutsche Grammophon, where so many legendary artists belong. I am thrilled to release my first album of two wonderful Beethoven works.\n\n\n\nHe was truly a miracle. His playing had the power of a healing ritual. It was truly divine.\n\nHe is a rare combination of superb pianism and truly expressive musicianship.\n\nTsujii's playing is phenomenal by any standard.\n\n\"His concerts sell out because he brings a rather unorthodox flair to his playing--his complete concentration on the possibilities of sound and feeling even creates the music he plays anew.\" --Seen and Heard International (website)\n\n\n\n(UNIVERSAL MUSIC\/IMS)\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Dgg (Deutsche Grammophon Gesellschaft)","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":50716287664417,"sku":"28948665372","price":19.95,"currency_code":"EUR","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0568\/8482\/2076\/files\/28948665372.jpg?v=1734945612","url":"https:\/\/cdsvinyljapan.com\/de-de\/products\/28948665372","provider":"CDs Vinyl Japan Store","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
