Paris-born, Brooklyn-based saxophonist Jerome Sabbagh: first new album in over 10 years with the quartet that is the basis of his activities! In addition to longtime collaborators Ben Monder and Joe Martin, drummer Nasheet Waits! Recorded on analog tape, this is a remarkable work with the highest attention to sound quality and no edits. Jérôme Sabbagh, born in Paris, France and based in New York, has reunited his quartet for the first time in over 10 years! He will release his long-awaited new album "Stand Up! The release is on his own analog recording label, Analog Tone Factory. The members are longtime friends Ben Monder (g) and Joe Martin (b), as well as the smokin' silver drummer Nasheet Waits. The last two albums have been with such masters as Kenny Barron and Al Foster, but the quartet is the fundamental form of Jerome's activities over the past 20 years. This album is one of his best work with the unit he holds most dear to his heart. The title "Stand Up!" is based on a song from the 2007 work "Pogo," which also contains the message of "standing up to the chaos of our time" and "standing up for what you believe in," and the songs are all personal tributes. Dedicated to Sam Rivers, Stevie Wonder, Kenny Barron, and Paul Motian, these are all self-oriented. The performances are all profound, with elements of country, blues, and R&B fused with jazz. On the other hand, M6, with Ben Monder's swinging guitar and Nasheet's drums, is a number dedicated to Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails, showing the quartet's wide range of expression. The recording was a one-shot recording, which is the label's policy! Engineered by James Farber and mastered (and analog cut) by Bernie Grundman, the recording was done by master craftsmen. Recorded at the same studio and by the same staff the day before Chris Cheek's much-talked-about recording on the same label, this is also a remarkable work in terms of sound quality.

Tracklisting:

.Lone Jack (for Ray Charles and Pete Rende)
.Michelle's Song (for Michelle Egan)
.Lunar Cycle (for Sam Rivers)
.The Break Song (for Stevie Wonder)
.High Falls (for Meaghan Glennan)
.Mosh Pit (for Trent Reznor)
.Vanguard (for Paul Motian)
.Unbowed (for Kenny Barron)
