The album was a masterpiece that showed the world the excellence of Italian rock, displaying classical melodies, medieval lyricism, and a hint of the Mediterranean Sea, while at the same time displaying formidable performance techniques. The English lyrics were written by Peter Sinfield, formerly of King Crimson, who also produced two songs.
