The talented pianist Leif Ove Ansnes, who has been called the "Northern Lights of Scandinavia," is releasing his beautiful sound and highly artistic masterpieces in a limited edition analog LP version. This album is a sequel to the well-received Rachmaninoff: Piano Concertos Nos. 1 & 2, conducted by Pappano, which was released in 2005. In this album, Ansnes performed with the prestigious London Symphony Orchestra, and gave us a well-matched performance. Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 3 is a difficult work that mixes Rachmaninoff's technical and romantic aspects, and is known as the most difficult of all piano concertos. The chords struck in rapid succession by the talented Ansnes have a moderately medium weight, and his robust musicianship further adds a varied impression to the melancholic melody. Pappano's London Symphony Orchestra responded to the agile changes in tune, and together with the orchestra gave the music a vivid breath of life.
