LIVING MIRAGE" is their fourth album in total. Fans who know their previous album, "SIGNS OF LIGHT," which reached No. 5 on the U.S. album chart, may have noticed a change in their sound. That is as it should be. The band's original member, vocalist and guitarist Josiah Johnson, had to leave the band for health reasons after the release of the last album. Early last year, the band members gathered at Joshua Tree in the Mojave Desert, determined to break out of their shell. They began songwriting a new album, replacing Josiah with Matt Gervais, an old friend of the band who is also the husband of Charity Rose Thielen, the band's vocalist and violinist. Songwriting and recording for the album took place at The Refuge Fox Cities in Appleton, Wisconsin, West Seattle, Omnisound in Nashville, and Barefoot Recordings in Los Angeles.Produced by Tyler Johnson with Alex Salibian (Harry Styles, Sam Smith, etc.) and engineered by Ryan Nasci. Overcoming growing pains since their last album, "SIGNS OF LIGHT," bassist Chris Zasche describes the sound world as "a rebirth, a kind of soul-searching" that has greatly expanded from THE HEAD AND THE HEART's previous earthy folk-rock sound. The result is the newest album, "Lost in Time". The result is "Living Mirage," an album of kaleidoscopic reflections, a mixture of stories and perspectives. In my mind, the songs on this album are a collection of short scenes," says vocalist Jon Russell, "'Brenda,' for example, reminds me of a house party when I was a teenager. You're surrounded by noise, wondering what the hell I'm doing here, and then a light comes on and you recognize someone. And you think, "I think I'll stay here a little longer. The lead track from the album, "Missed Connection," is the first track on the album and is a song that shows the band's musical growth, especially in the first half of the album. The lead track from the album is "Missed Connection," a song that is particularly indicative of the band's musical growth. The beats are fast for our songs, and there's an ash hat in there that we've never used before," says drummer Tyler Williams, who adds that the album also reflects the members' taste for pop and hip-hop production, which he has not seen in their music before. "It's a little bit different from what we're used to," says drummer Tyler Williams. Still, their gentle harmonies and melodies remain intact, and THE HEAD AND THE HEART's "Living Mirage" is a dreamlike piece about the anxiety, anguish, and ultimately hope that comes with change when one is caught up in the heat of the moment. Literally, this is their best album to date--they proudly say this about their latest work.

Tracklisting:

.See You Through My Eyes
.Missed Connection
.People Need A Melody
.Honeybee
.Brenda
.Running Through Hell
.Up Against The Wall
.Saving Grace
.I Found Out
.Living Mirage
.Glory of Music
