Wolfgang Marschner, born in Dresden in 1926, was a violinist, composer, conductor, and teacher. Coming from a famous musical family, his ancestors include Heinrich Marschner (1795-1861), the most important composer of German opera between Weber and Wagner. At the age of 14, he entered the Mozarteum University of Salzburg. At the age of 14, he entered the Mozarteum University of Salzburg, where his Divertimento for String Quartet was premiered.
