Peter Urquhart studied composition, performance, and music history, holds degrees in musicology and conducting from Westminster Choir College and Smith College, and a Ph.D. from Harvard University, studies 15th- and 16th-century Flemish music, and in 1984, founded the Massachusetts He is also the director of Capella Alamire, an 11-member choral ensemble of men and women formed in Cambridge, Massachusetts in 1984.
