In addition to the F minor sonata from Op. 4, the only sonata published during her lifetime, this collection also includes the F major sonata composed in 1838, which was discovered, revised, and published by Menuhin (the original version, which has not been significantly altered by Menuhin), the F major sonata written in 1820 (when Mendelssohn was around 11 years old), and the F minor sonata written in the 1820s, which was published in the same year as the F minor sonata.
