24 NIGHTS" is a live work released in 1991, recording Eric Clapton's historic performance at the Royal Albert Hall in London. This live album is a condensed version of the passionate performance that took place in various configurations, and is considered to be a masterpiece. This time, a definitive version of this classic live album will be released, featuring many rare and previously unreleased sound and video recordings!

This time, a super deluxe CD box set (6 CDs + 3 BLU-RAYs) and a super deluxe analog box set (8 analogs + 3 BLU-RAYs) will be released under the title of "THE DEFINITIVE 24 NIGHTS", which will be limited to complete production only. In addition to the box set, there will be a 2-CD+DVD set named "24 NIGHTS: ROCK", "24 NIGHTS: BLUES", and "24 NIGHTS: ORCHESTRAL", each of which will feature rock, blues, and orchestral performances, and a 2-CD+DVD set named "24 NIGHTS: ROCK", "24 NIGHTS: BLUES", and "24 NIGHTS: ORCHESTRAL". The Royal Albert Hall is the home of the "24 NIGHTS: ROCK" series, and the "24 NIGHTS: BLUES" series.

The Royal Albert Hall is like a second home to Eric Clapton in London, and since his first performance at this historic venue in 1964 with The Yardbirds, Clapton has performed there over 200 times (a number that is still being updated). Clapton has performed at the Yardbirds more than 200 times (and counting), more than any other artist.

He also holds the record for consecutive performances at the Royal Albert Hall, having played there 18 times in 1990, a record he broke the following year with 24 performances. Those performances were the most ambitious of Clapton's career. At each show, he played a setlist that spanned his career in one of three configurations: rock band, blues band, or orchestra under the direction of Michael Kamen. To commemorate this record-breaking performance, Clapton released "24 NIGHTS" in 1991, a 2-CD live album and film that, while it contained some of Clapton's finest performances, only covered a fraction of the performances that were filmed and recorded at the time. Now, Clapton is about to be reborn in a new light.

Warner Records will release "THE DEFINITIVE 24 NIGHTS" as a limited edition box set, a fitting tribute to this historic performance, featuring six hours of live material, 34 of the 47 tracks being previously unreleased live material. The collection also features a condensed version of Clapton's 1990-91 Albert Hall residency, with the best performances from rock, blues, and orchestral configurations, respectively, in a concert for each genre. All sound and video material for THE DEFINITIVE 24 NIGHTS is produced by Simon Climie (audio production, mixing), producer Peter Worsley ("Slowhand at 70," "Lady in the Balcony: Lockdown Sessions), and director David Bernard ("Lady in the Balcony: The Lockdown Sessions"). Both the CD and analog boxes also include a hardcover booklet and a numbered lithograph featuring a photograph of Clapton taken by Carl Stouduna.

At the rock concert, Clapton performed such signature songs as "Sunshine of Your Love," "Can't Find My Way Home," "My Cousin Layla," and "Wonderful Tonight. A cover of "Crossroads" and "Gateway to Heaven," with Phil Collins on drums, were among the highlights of the recording. Also included are "Pretending," "Running on Faith," and "Bad Love," songs from 1989's "Journeyman.

The Blues Concert, featuring Buddy Guy, Albert Collins, Robert Cray, and other great guests, features excellent blues standards such as "Key to the Highway," "Sweet Home Chicago," "Black Cat Bone," "Reconcider Baby," and more. You can listen to excellent covers of blues standards such as "Sweet Home Chicago," "Black Cat Bone," and "Reconcider Baby.

The orchestral concert is the most special of the collection. For this concert, Clapton's nine-piece band was joined by the National Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by legendary composer Michael Kamen. This collaboration resulted in stunningly beautiful arrangements of songs such as "My Cousin Leila," "White Room," "Bell Bottom Blues," "I Shot the Sheriff," and "Lay Down Sally."

The highlight of this orchestral arrangement (and perhaps of the entire box set) is the epic, previously unreleased "Concerto For Electric Guitar," which runs for a whopping 30 minutes. This piece was composed by Kamen exclusively for Clapton, and was performed live for the first time at this performance at the Albert Hall. In his liner notes on the orchestration, music journalist David Fricke said of the track: "This track was performed in 1991. Nearly halfway through this 1991 performance, Clapton soars his guitar as if he were accompanied by members of Cream, weaving dense, beautiful melodies and unleashing them with rapture, and the Kamen respond to his excitement with strings and brass."
