Chopin (1810-1849)

Description:

The noble and deeply sorrowful tone of Kellas, and the exquisite soft sound of Melnikov that seems to embrace everything, Chopin and Rachmaninoff by two master musicians! Kellas and Melnikov, the best combination of two musicians, recorded Chopin and Rachmaninoff! Kelas's noble cello is too beautiful even in its weakest notes. Melnikov's clear and delicate touch stands out on the piano. The two virtuosos have created another masterpiece of Romantic music. The complete Beethoven works for cello and piano (KKC 5402 and HMC 902183), performed by the world's greatest duo, Jean-Gian Kelas (cello) and Alexandre Melnikov (piano), have been acclaimed worldwide and won the Bronze Grand Prize at the 52nd Record Academy Awards in 2014. The Beethoven cycle was also awarded the Grand Bronze Prize in the chamber music category at the 52nd Recording Academy Awards in 2014. This recording of the Beethoven Sonata is the latest in a series of recordings that have been made over the years with other orchestras and have further honed the ensemble's breathtaking sensitivity and precision. Chopin's Cello Sonata was the last work published during his lifetime. Rachmaninoff's Cello Sonata was written in 1901, at the end of Rachmaninoff's twenties, after he had completed his Piano Concerto No. 2. Chopin's work is like an anguished suicide note, while Rachmaninoff's work is full of lyricism and brilliance. Both are popular Romantic masterpieces, and it is an exceptional pleasure to hear them performed by these two musicians. The sonatas are also written by pianists, and it is noteworthy that Melnikov changed instruments to achieve the ideal sound for each piece. Throughout the entire work, Kelas's tone is truly noble. The tone is filled with deep sadness and too beautiful weak tones. One can sense that Kellas is constantly deepening. Melnikov's tone from the prelude of Chopin draws the listener into the world at once. He changed pianos, changing from an Erard for the Chopin to a Steinway for the Rachmaninoff. In the Rachmaninoff, the pianist did not drown in romanticism, but developed raging passages with a delicate and transparent tone. In both Chopin and Rachmaninoff, the cello and piano engage in a perfectly balanced and breathy dialogue. There are many great performances of both Chopin and Rachmaninoff, but this is another definitive masterpiece. King International
