Metallica, the world's greatest heavy metal band, releases their latest studio album "72 Seasons" on April 14, 2023! In addition, 15 previous studio and live albums are available for a limited time at a limited price!

Since 2016's "Hardwired... This new album, their first new album in 6 years and 4 months since "To Self Distract", was produced by Greg Fidelman, who also produced the previous album, as well as James Hetfield (Vo/Gt) and Lars Ulrich (Dr) of METALLICA. The album contains 12 songs in total.

James Hetfield explains the concept behind the album title: "'72 Seasons' refers to the first 18 years of a person's life, the years that shape who they really are and who they pretend to be. It is a concept that is indoctrinated by one's parents, "This is who I am." The possibility of making assumptions about one's own personality. What is most interesting about this, I think, is that these core beliefs continue to be taken into account in later life, and how they now influence the way we perceive the world. Much of what we experience as adults is a replay or reaction to these childhood experiences. We can either remain prisoners of the cage of childhood, or we can break free of it.

A new music video for the song "Lux Æterna," which will appear on the album, has also been released. The video was directed by Tim Saccenti.

The band also announced a world tour "M72 WORLD TOUR" starting in 2023. Two shows will be held in each city, each with a different setlist as "No Repeat Weekend. The tour will start on April 27 and 28 in Amsterdam, and dates in Europe and North America have been announced. Support for the tour will come from FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH, ICE NINE KILLS, MAMMOTH WVH, PANTERA, ARCHITECTS, GRETA VAN FLEET and VOLBEAT.
